If you're having trouble logging into BitCraft Online or the connection keeps dropping, the problem is often outside of our game servers and relates to your internet network. This usually involves your local Internet Service Provider (ISP) or national security measures, like firewalls.
These systems can sometimes block the specific network information (ports, protocols, or IP addresses) that BitCraft needs to connect. Common reasons for this include:
- Regional Locks: Access might be limited in certain areas due to local laws.
- ISP Throttling: Your ISP might slow down or limit game-related traffic to manage overall bandwidth, especially during busy times.
- National Internet Filters: Countries with strict internet filtering may block the IP addresses or domains our service uses.
- Work/School Network Filters: Security on institutional networks (like at your job or university) might block legitimate game traffic.
Try These Troubleshooting Steps:
- Check with Your Internet Provider (ISP): Call your ISP and ask if they are aware of any network issues or if they have specific restrictions on gaming services or IP addresses.
- Use a VPN: A trustworthy Virtual Private Network (VPN) can, at times, allow you to bypass some of the limitations set on your network.
- Check Community Forums: Look at player forums to see if others in your area are reporting the same connection problems. This can help confirm if the issue is widespread and pinpoint the cause.
While we are committed to making BitCraft Online available worldwide, our ability to fix connectivity issues caused by your local ISP or government restrictions is limited.
Steam Authentication and Steam Weekly Maintenance Window
Steam Auth
Players may occasionally encounter a "Steam Authentication error" when attempting to log into BitCraft Online, which often indicates that the Steam authentication service is temporarily unavailable.
This issue is not with BitCraft Online itself, but rather with a service that BitCraft uses for Steam authentication. As soon as Steam authentication is restored, you will be able to log back into the game.
Steam Weekly Maintenance
Steam performs routine weekly maintenance every Tuesday. This typically occurs in the late afternoon Pacific Time (approximately 3-6 PM PT or 11 PM - 2 AM GMT) and usually causes temporary disconnections lasting between 10 to 30 minutes. This window is used to update Steam servers, improving performance and stability. Users may be disconnected from BitCraft Online during this routine update.
